Giving to Village

Giving is worship; it is a joyful act of faith and obedience toward God.  God does not need our money or anything we have, but we need to give to God from the money he gave us.  We who are part of Village give God's tithes (he says he demands the first of all he gives us) and our offerings (over and above what he is owed) in order that God might turn this into changed lives through the ministries of Village.  It's kind of like the boy with the lunch in John 6.  When he gave Jesus his five small barley loaves and two small fish, Jesus fed 5000 hungry people.  When he turned the boys "offering" into ministry, the people who ate were grateful, but the boy's joy had to be greater than even the disciples or the people!  That's why we give.

Village also gives back to God, in a sense.  Ten percent (10%) of all of our general giving is set-aside for Global Discipleship and that money is given to other people and ministries to fund work outside of our needs here in this area.

Above is a link to PayPal in order to allow you to support the ministry of Village Church from our website.  We have had requests for this because fewer and fewer people want to write checks, but we have been slow to provide this service because we are concerned that this would encourage some to give through PayPal using a credit card instead of a debit cad.  While some pay their credit cards off in full each month, we do not want anyone to increase their debt to give to Village.  We do believe that every Christian should be part of a local church and that God expects each of us to support the ministry of that church, but we should do so out of what we have received, not by increasing consumer debt.  If you use this site to give, we encourage you to give to God out of what you have received, to give first, to give joyfully, but to not increase your debt in order to give to Village.
