How Great is Our God

Come Like the Wind

Cornerstone

One Thing Remains

Holy Is the Lord

…Anticipatory Reflections of Sunday…

The song “How Great is Our God” is something of an anthem in the Church, today. All around the earth, in numerous languages, God’s people unite with this theme: God is great. God will be seen by all as great. So, we begin with the praise of His greatness.

“Come Like the Wind” is an honest, vulnerable request to God that He come and engage us, move us, reshape our thoughts of who He is – “we want to know You, God.” As our series on marriage starts this week, we are discovering God’s heart for marriage. To tell God we want to know Him in relationship is the only authentic way to have relationship with Him. Certainly, I know my bride Karis, but I want to know her, too. I want to discover more of who she is, and be stronger, closer in our relationship. Anything less than wanting to know our spouses more is inauthentic and stuck. If you feel stuck with God, listen closely to the sermon, as God has modeled marriage after His own desire for relationship with us.

Therefore, students, single people, widows, we are all the intended recipients of this message—God wants us to know Him, intimately, passionately, exclusively as the God of our lives, the love of our hearts. “Cornerstone” is that cry “Christ Alone, cornerstone” the only One we put our hope in.

His love “never fails, it never gives up, it never runs out on us” as the song “One Thing Remains” declares. I look forward to declaring this with you! The last song, this week is “Holy Is The Lord” I hope you come to church on Sunday, and enjoy the beautiful truth of God’s Word preached, and sharing in the song of His praise, together with His Bride. I look forward to singing to Jesus with you.
