Man Prix

What is a Man Prix? For years, the Awana program has held a Grand Prix event where the clubbers design, build and race their own pine wood derby cars. Over the years, we have often overheard the dads of these clubbers express the desire to build and race their own cars to see how they do against their peers. Now enters the “Man Prix,” the long awaited opportunity for men to gather and race cars together. Friday, February 15 at 7:00 pm marks our first Village Man Prix. Cost is $5 for registration.

How do I build a car? We have car kits available for an additional $5 that include a pine-block car body with precut axle slots, 4 axles, 4 wheels and decals. Or you may also source your own materials for your car. All cars will need to meet a few minimal rules which will be provided once you sign up. Need help building a car? Car “workshop” days will be provided on the mornings of January 26 and February 2 to assist with design and wood cutting.

Join us for a guy’s night out, an evening of food (manly chili and manly snacks), fun and competition. Even if you don’t build a car, you are invited to join us and have some fun.
